Minis is a parent/carer and baby/toddler group which normally meets in the church centre, Monday and Friday mornings. Minis aims to be an inclusive place of welcome and support to parents/carers whatever their parenting journey.
We are currently unable to meet due to COVID-19 restrictions so we have weekly online videos featuring Mini Ted, a story, craft activity and birthdays. Please contact us if you would like to receive these videos on a weekly basis.
For the children
We aim to provide a safe and happy place for babies/children to play where they can play, learn and interact with other children and adults.
Good quality toys have been chosen to aid the children in their play and reassure parents/carers that their children are safe.
For the adults
We aim to provide a welcoming place for all parents and carers to make friends and feel supported.
We hope that it is a place that builds a sense of belonging and community, particularly for those who feel isolated and without family support.
A typical morning
After arriving and having a short time of free play, we encourage everyone to participate in our All Together Time with Mini Ted as we introduce the morning’s session with a general theme about God and his world using songs, stories and visual aids. We show the children what they will be doing in their craft activity and also celebrate birthdays and give out any notices.
Then it is time for more playing, interspersed with our famous snack time with wonderful toast delivered by a team of volunteers in the kitchen.
We end with 10 minutes of bubbles and a singing time, led by one or other of the parent volunteers.
You can book a place at Minis by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org as there is usually a waiting list.
