Dear All Saints Family,
In light of the rapidly changing situation regarding the new Omicron variant of COVID, we have decided to make some changes to our Christmas service provision.
We understand that not everyone will be in agreement with some of these decisions, but as the safety of our community is the top priority and we want the risk of catching COVID over Christmas itself to be minimised and the chance to see our loved ones maximised, we feel these changes are justified. Please note that the Sunday morning services this week will continue as planned. Please bring a mask to wear throughout the service and we kindly request that you vacate the building as soon after the service as you can.
Sunday 19th December – Evening Christmas Carol Service
It is with great regret that we feel that we need to cancel the Carol Service on Sunday. The choir had quite a discussion last night at our rehearsal and we feel that it is the sensible and responsible thing to do, to cancel. We are very mindful of the immensely fast spread of the Omicrom variant, and we would not want to be responsible for putting people at risk, particularly the most vulnerable amongst us. Really sorry; we’re disappointed, but we’ll be back next year hopefully!! (Vicki Bulgin on behalf of the Carol Service team)
Friday 24th December – Christingles
We are now planning to hold these events outside in the All Saints Car Park. Please bring a mask to wear so that we minimise risk of transmission whilst singing.
Saturday 25th Christmas Day – Joint Service
With regret we are cancelling the in-person service, but there will be a pre-recorded experience that you can watch online on Christmas Day. It will premiere on Youtube at 10am and then will be available for you to watch at your own convenience.
Sunday 26th Boxing – No Services
We will not be holding any services on Boxing Day. The next service will be January 2nd.
I understand these decisions will be met with a variety of responses, but I also know that All Saints is a gracious, loving community that will support one another through prayer and practical care during these testing times.
May you know the hope, love, joy and peace of King Jesus over this season and well into the New Year.
Love and prayers,
Craig
