Hi! My name is Andy and I am the new Ministry Assistant at All Saints. I have been married to Susie for thirteen years and we have three children: Molly aged nine; Nina aged seven and Thomas aged three. We moved to Chester from Liverpool in 2011 and currently live in Boughton.

I work as a self-employed driving instructor which I have now been doing for 13 years and am also in my third year of study for an MA in Mission and Leadership with Cliff College.

I love sports in general but particularly football and support Liverpool FC. I also enjoying hiking, music, spending time with family and friends, eating good food and drinking coffee.

I am passionate to see the church flourish, function effectively and fulfil its purpose on earth. I believe that the church through, and in, Jesus, is the hope of the world. To me, the Biblical vision and mission of the church is stunningly beautiful and I think it is our privilege to be called to partake and participate in it. This Biblical vision and mission of church captivated my heart early on in my Christian journey and has continued to increasingly fuel a desire to want to play my part in serving and helping the church fulfil its purpose. What this has looked like for me over the years has varied but for the past 15 years I have been in some form of leadership in churches, most latterly as an Elder within a broader Eldership team until March 2020. God spoke to us at the beginning of 2020 that He was turning the page in our lives and that we were about to embark on a new chapter in a new place. This led us to All Saints at the end of 2021. We feel sure that God has led us here and we are loving being here, it has been such a blessing to us. We feel very connected with the people, the heart and the vision of the church here and are excited for what lies ahead.

I will be functioning as a ministry assistant, so I will be ‘assisting’ the ministry in the church in whatever way I can. This will mean I will be getting more involved in the life of the church during the week and on Sundays. I will also be working voluntarily at the church on Tuesday mornings, shadowing Sam, in order to learn and grow in confidence and understanding with how church leadership works at All Saints.

Costa del Holidays 2023: Save the Date!

Our plans for this year’s holiday at home have begun. Don’t miss the opportunity to join us for 3 wonderful days from Wednesday 16th – Friday 18th August 2023 so please save the dates.  Further details will follow soon.

Kids Church Helpers

We need you!! Can you offer one Sunday morning a month? This may be less, depending on how many people sign up. Being a kids church helper requires no planning or prep, it’s literally a support role to the leaders and the kids during the session. Because we are so blessed with so many children and young people, we desperately need more people to help so we don’t have to start limiting our numbers, which we really don’t want to do. This is also a great way to see what we get up to in kids church and be encouraged by the wonderful faith our precious children have in learning more about Jesus. If you want more information or want to sign up to help, please talk to Gemma Gaudion or email: gemma.gaudion@allsaints.church. This role requires a DBS check which the office will process for you.

Who Let the Dads Out?

Who Let the Dads Out? is a once a month group that gives dads, father figures and their children the opportunity to spend time together and have fun. It’s run at Hoole Lighthouse Centre, Westminster Road, Hoole, on the first Saturday of every month, from 10am-12noon.

Bacon/veggie sausage butties, filter coffee, tea, cold drinks and biscuits as well as toys for babies and children approximately under the age of 8.

It’s a great chance for dads to get together and talk about life and raising children from their vantage point.

If you would like any further info, please look on the WLTDO website: https://www.careforthefamily.org.uk/support-for-you/faith-in-the-family/support-for-churches/wltdo/

The next sessions are Saturdays February 4th and March 4th.

News from Hoole Church of England Primary School

“Our school vision is ‘Let your light shine’ (Matthew 5:16). We seek to provide opportunities for children’s light to shine in so many different ways as we recognise that pupils have unique skills and talents.

We celebrate children’s sporting achievements outside of school via our weekly school newsletter. Pupils proudly bring in certificates and awards they have been presented with from their clubs and we celebrate everyone who starts and perseveres with new sporting ventures.

In addition, to this, we access an array of local competitions and tournaments so that children can try out and participate with different sports. We send children of all sporting abilities to local events. This year to date, we have played in netball, football, kurling, multi-sports, boccia and athletics events. An ex- pupil of our school who now plays for Sale Sharks rugby team visited us with the wheelchair rugby team and children in Year five had the opportunity to take part in wheelchair rugby matches.

We were very proud to present athletics medals to a group of children in a recent worship. The medals were presented by the West Cheshire Athletics Club who ran a competition comprising of four races. Leon in Year five won the gold medal for the strongest performance over the series of races and our Year five boys’ team were presented with a medal for their winning teamwork.

We also celebrated our football team being invited to the Cheshire Schools finals in Crewe. Once again, the team showed determination and enthusiasm on behalf of our school family.

Thank you for your prayers and good wishes for our school.”

Rosalind Flanders, Headteacher
